Great Salt Lake Spirit Association
We do more than your average cheer team. We are Utah’s Youth Cheer Conference. Great Salt Lake Spirit Association is part of the American Youth Cheer (AYC). This league was created uniquely for its cheerleaders, like us!
We stress the importance of academic achievement and community involvement. We prepare youngsters to face the future with sportsmanship, teamwork, honesty, responsibility, self-discipline, positive aspirations, academic preparedness and confidence. If we teach them positive lessons, such as playing by the rules, our young athletes will learn to live by the rules. Learning through the sport of Cheerleading.

Great Salt Lake Spirit Association is your one stop for resources needed to organize and run your association, conference or team in Utah. As a district you are eligible for: 501c3 tax exempt status, affordable background checks, insurance, equipment, uniforms, custom website, competitions, coaching certifications, attend safety clinics required by Utah State Risk, all star teams, coaches hall of fame, and much more!
Do You Want to Coach? Each district will hire and certify Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches to run their teams
The vast majority of youth sport programs in the United States rely primarily on parent volunteers to serve as coaches.
Our coaches believe in following the outlines set forth by American Youth Football & Cheer. Coaches are positive role models for kids, with emphasis on learning, playing, and enjoying the sport while instilling high moral standards.

How to Get Started Getting Started is Easy - We Help You Every Step of the Way
Locate your district, register your district and apply to obtain 501c3 status under our umbrella, apply for insurance, download all rule books, obtain and certify coaches, advertise in your community and recruit athletes to cheer, begin practicing, and attend local competitions/games to help grow your program.
